Olivia served as HDO Health’s first Wheeler Wheeler & Wolstein Intern during the Summer of 2022.

During her internship, Olivia prepared the design history file for the Journiquet™ in preparation for 510(k) submission and was involved with product design iteration – her efforts supported by both CMD MedTech and Priority Designs. Olivia continues to be involved with the HDO Health team after the end of her internship and is excited to play a role in bringing this life-saving technology to market!

Olivia recently started working as a Systems Engineer at CMD MedTech, a Columbus-based small business that provides systems engineering, project management, and design and development services to the medical device and healthcare industries. In this role, she primarily supports verification and validation protocol development and testing for a variety of healthcare companies.

Prior to starting with CMD MedTech, Olivia graduated from Ohio State University with her master’s degree in biomedical engineering. Her degree program focused on medical device development and human biomechanics.

Before that, she held several internship positions with companies including Mettler-Toledo and Charles River Laboratories. At Mettler-Toledo, she conducted chemical analyses and method development for consumer products across a variety of industries, gaining hands-on experience in titration, DMA, TGA, and DSC. At Charles River Laboratories, Olivia interned in the Environmental, Health, Safety, & Sustainability department where she developed an ergonomic risk assessment tool for departments experiencing high rates of musculoskeletal discomfort. Olivia also interned in the Bioanalytical Chemistry department at Charles River, where she conducted sample preparations for analysis via mass spectrometer in support of pre-clinical pharmaceutical safety assessment efforts.
